X-Mas Pro-Am and Luncheon - Kidderminster 1st December.
16 teams competed in this end of the Season shot-gun start festive event.
Following his success at Droitwich 3 weeks ago Neil Rowlands of Gay Hill won the individual event
with a 4 under score of 40 points. Hot on his heels was the President Iain Clark with 38 points.
4 Professionals tied for 3rd place with scores of 34 points, they were; Chris Botterill of Burlish Park, formerly Wyre Forest; Simon Gabbitas, Hagley; Martin Payne, Worcester Golf Range and Rob Price,
Moseley.
The home team won the team event with 88 points (3 scores to count on all par 3's, 2 scores to count
on the remainder). Pat Smith was the team captain with his 3 amateur partners of Bill Styles, Roy Mathews and Bill Longmore in scintillating form, Match Captain please note.
After a dry and sunny round of golf all competitors enjoyed a superbly cooked and served X-Mas
Lunch. The Association's compliments to the Chef and his staff.

Alliance Pro-Am, Droitwich G.C. - 9th November 2011
Playing in his first WPGA event the new Professional from Gay Hill, Neil Rowlands, won the Professionals
Individual Event with a 1 over par score of 71. Close on his heels with a score of 73 was the young
Assistant from Worcester Golf & Country, Ian Henry. In joint 3rd place with scores of 74 were Simon Gabbitas
(Hagley), Martin Griffin (Moseley) and Jeremy Robinson (Unattached).
Moseley won the team event with a score of 129 with Martin Griffin, the Professional, being ably supported by Malcolm Pugh and two gorgeous ladies, Hellen Griffin, Martin's wife, and Katie Sammons.

Alliance Pro-Am, Bewdley Pines - 19th September
Returning a 2 under par score of 67 the President, Iain Clark (retired) was 4 shots better than his nearest rival Simon Gabbitas from Hagley. In joint 3rd place with scores of 72 were Ryan Cleary
(Evesham), Mark Slater (the home Professional), Sean Strudley (Abbey Hotel) and Nathan Tomlinson
(North Worcestershire).
The team event was won by Moseley with a 16 under par score of 122, beating Droitwich, the 2nd placed team by 4 shots. The Moseley team consisted of young Rob Price, the Assistant Professional,
together with the 3 amateurs A. Price, B. Renton and G. Davenhall.

Registered Trainees Match Play 2011 for the J. Potter Trophy
In a thrilling match played at Blackwell Tom Warbrick, The Vale, beat Steve Clarke, Kidderminster,
on the last hole.
On their way to the final Tom beat Dan Nicklin, Blackwell, in the quarter finals and Ryan Cleary, Evesham, in the semi finals.Steve beat Matt Rea, Stourbridge, in the quarter finals and Paul Wilding, Halesowen, in the semi finals

2011 Match Play Results for the "Pop" Lewis Cup
In a keenly fought match played at Blackwell Dan Clee, Evesham, beat Rob Price, Moseley, by 4 & 3.
On their way to the final Dan beat Ian Henry, Worcester G & C, in the quarter finals and Sam Johnston,
Fulford Heath, in the semi-finals. Rob beat Ryan Cleary, Evesham, in the quarter finals and Jeremy Robinson, Twyford Golf, in the semi finals. This is the 3rd time Dan has won this trophy in the last 6 years.

Alliance Pro-Am held at Worcester Golf & Country Club on 26th September
The home Professional, Graham Farr, won the individual event with a 1 under par score of 69 Three Professionals were joint 2nd with scores of 70, they were Richard Davies, North Worcestershire; Tommy Robinson, Ombersley and Adam Whiting, Droitwich.
The Stourbridge team of Mathew Rea, the Professional and his 3 amateurs J. Evans, N. Baker and D. Moreton won the team event with a score of 128.

Annual Pro-Am held at North Worcs. Golf Club on 15th September
With a 3 under par score of 66, including 5 birdies on the back nine, Martin Payne from Worcester Golf Range just managed to win the individual event by 1 shot. Close on his heels with scores of 67 and 68 were Simon Gabbitas from Hagley and Ryan Cleary from Evesham. In Joint 4th place with scores of 70 were Iain Clark, Hagley; Richard Davies, North Worcs. and Scott Gregory, The Vale.
The team event was won by the Worcester. Golf Range Team, with Martin Payne the Professional and his 3 amateurs W. Poulton, D. Bell and T. Perkins, returning a score of 124.

Results of the Worcestershire Open Pro -Am held at North Worcestershire G.C. on 11th July
Returning the only sub par round of the day Tom Warbrick of The Vale Golf Club won the
Professional's Individual Event with a 1 under par score of 68.
Three Professionals were close behind him with 1 over par scores of 70, they were, Martin Griffin of Moseley, Jeremy Robinson of Twyford Golf and Paul Wilding of Halesowen.
The Vale G.C. also won the Team Event, but this time Scott Gregory was the Professional ably supported by his amateur partners F. Burton, S. Young and H. Thompson.

Results of Presidents Day Pro-Am held at Kidderminster G.C. on 11th July - (Stableford Event)
An excellent turn out of 24 teams saw the President, Iain Clark, win his own event with a level par score of 36 points. Finlay Clark (Iain's eldest son) from Blackwell together with Steve Clarke from Kidderminster and Chris Mole from Bromsgrove finished in joint 2nd place with 1 over par scores of 35 points.
Bromsgrove Golf Centre won the Team Event with a score of 88 points - Chris Mole was the team Professional and J. Ward, N. Bird and D. Harold his amateur partners.

Results of the Goldsmith Pro-Am at Hagley Golf Club on 30th June.
The Professionals Individual Event resulted in a 3-way tie for first place.
Iain Clark of Hagley, Simon Lucas from John Letters Golf Academy and Robert Price from Moseley all returned scores of 74, 2 over par.
This was Simon's first competition as a new member of the W.P.G.A. well done.
Iain Clark again featured in the team event, he and his 3 amateur partners, Ken Austin, Colin Day and Cliff Walker winning with an eleven under par score of 133.
Watches were provided by Goldsmiths for nearest-the-pin prizes on holes 6 and 17 meaning a total of £240.00
was raised for Charity. This sum will be sent to Birmingham Childrens Hospice of behalf of Goldsmiths.

Worcestershire PGA 36 Hole Championship.
Sponsored by Lionel Newton, Tony Rawlins and David Roadway.
This premier event of the year was held at Moseley Golf Club on Wednesday 1st June. Par 70.
Returning the only sub par round of the day Dean Lake of Abbey Hotel returned a 69 2nd round score which
along with his 1st round score of 74 resulted in a winning total of 143 for the Championship - well done Dean.
In joint 2nd place with scores of 144 were last year's winner Martin Payne of Worcester Golf Range and
Nathan Tomlinson of North Worcestershire. In joint 4th place were Richard Davies of North Worcestershire
and Martin Griffin of Moseley with scores of 146. Iain Clark the retired Professional from Hagley found 36 holes
rather tiring but still managed joint 6th place with Jimmy Cox of The Worcestershire, both with scores of 148.
Run in conjunction with the above event was the Registered Trainee's Championship and Dean's score of 143
was good enough to win the trophy. Nathan Tomlinson's score of 144 put him in 2nd place and 4 other
Trainee's tied for 3rd place, they were Steve Clarke from Kidderminster, Ryan Cleary Evesham, Scott Gregory
The Vale and Daniel Nicklin Blackwell.

Ward Memorial Pro-Am - Gay Hill Golf Club
12th May 2011
26 Teams took part in this Annual event, the largest number in any WPGA Pro-Am since 2008.
Strangely enough the highest number of teams playing in any WPGA Pro-Am was in 2003, 31 teams taking
part and the event was The Ward Memorial Pro-Am and held yet again at Gay Hill. Now to business.
Leading the field with a 2 under par score of 70 was Jeremy Robinson of Twyford Golf. In second place at
one over par 73 was Adam Mason of Bromsgrove. In joint 3rd place with scores of 74 were Mark Slater of
Bewdley Pines and Paul Wilding of Halesowen.
Two teams returned scores of 133 but unfortunately the Redditch team of Alex Richardson the Professional
and his partners S. Hadley, B. Jones and S. Whyte lost out on a count back on the last 9 holes to the home amateur team of A. Uva, R. Peoples and S. McNabola ably supported by their team Professional Mark Jones of
Direct Golf UK. This was Mark Jones first competition since recently joining the Worcs. PGA.

3rd May 2011
Adam Mason of Bromsgrove Golf Centre won this last Alliance Meeting of the 2010/2011 Season
with a 1 under par score of 69. Richard Davies of North Worcs. was second with a level par score
of 70 after 3 putting the last green. In joint 3rd place with scores of 72 were Iain Clark of Hagley
and Jeremy Robinson of Twyford Golf.
S. Kotlarzewski, R. Binnie and R. Phillpot, 3 amateurs from the home club, and ably supported by
Richard Davies the Professional from North Worcs. won the team event with a 10 under par score of 130.
Throughout the 2010/2011 Season Professionals are awarded points for their team's placement in
each Alliance Meeting they have played in. 7 Alliance Meetings were held and the Professional with
the highest score of 216 was Ian Henry of Worcs. Golf & Country who receives the Derek Greey Trophy plus a small cash award. Not far behind him were Ryan Cleary of Evesham with 201 points and Ian Clark of Hagley with 198 points.

Stourbridge Alliance Results
24th March 2011.
Congratulations to young Ryan Cleary of Evesham G.C. on winning the professional's individual
event with a score of 70, he was closely followed by Jeremy Robinson from Twyford Golf with
a score of 71. In joint 3rd place with scores of 72 were Dan Clee (Evesham), Robert Laing
(Little Lakes) and Adam Mason (Bromsgrove).
The winning team were from Evesham with a score of 129. Dan Clee was the professional and
Boz Harris, Jim Jones & Andy Witts his amateur partners.
This was the 1st event of the Season with 22 teams competing on a very warm & sunny early Spring
day.
The next Alliance Meeting is at The Worcestershire Golf Club on Thursday 7th April.
